CTLSO w Torticollis

Dear List:
Below is my original request. I recieved some very helpful responses and
insights, as usual the List came through. As a result, I am fabricating a Low
Profile Milwaukee superstructure with a temporal-occipital headpiece. The two
will be connected with a Becker Spherical Hip Adduction Joint. This joint is
very low profile with a very good amount of adjustability. The Hip joint will
be attached to the Milwaukee posterior upright with a Fillauer Zippy Quick
Release. This was a response to the parent/teacher's request for easy removal of
the head piece for school work.
Thank you to all the respondents,
Donald McGovern, CPO

I am initiating a CTLSO for a three year old person. This child needs a
scoliosis TLSO which will incorporate a custom molded CO for tortocollis. I may
be dreaming, but I believe a joint exists which would be removable from the
TLSO that would allow adjustment of the CO to gradually correct the Torticollis.
Or at least a joint that I could use with the Fillauer ZQ Release. Another
characteristic of a dream joint would allow transverse rotation with a stop;
this would allow rotation to the neglected side while stopping rotation to the
other side. I have been looking at the Fillauer Pivot Pin joint used on the
Arm Abduction orthosis, but I am concerned with size and bulk.
