If you do a google search using BRÅNEMARK and Osseointegration you should find everything that you are looking for.

Google Dr. Branemark
A German engineer personally tried to use an implanted pin to attach
his prosthesis. The problems is creating a dermatological seal around
the site to prevent infection. The project failed and the pt went from
TT to TF. Jury is still out.

Bad news first: The answer isn't too good if your patient is
in a rush. Dr. Branemark (originator of titanium mandibular dental
implants) has been doing femoral implants in Sweden or somewhere in Scandanavia,
however, there are only about a dozen patients that have been successful with
prostheses. The good news: Brown University in Providence, RI just
got a grant from the VA and DOD to work on bio-prosthetics. Maybe your
candidate should get in touch with Brown to see if they need guinea pigs! Good
luck.
