I have a patient that has a flail right lower limb post polio. He
currently wear an AK caliper with Otto Bock bar lock knee joints and
stainless steel system ankle joints, spring loaded. The AK and AFO
section are both laminated (fiberglass and perlon). It is a good fitting
caliper but he has now approached me to make him a better and more
functional caliper.

His muscle strength status is 1 for hip flexor's and extensors and 1 for
knee flexors and extensors. He has a hyper mobile knee, no varus or
valgus control, and a hyper mobile ankle and foot. Foot and ankle muscle
status is also a 1 or 0.

He is very keen to get the best type of caliper and cost does not seem
to be much of a factor. I would greatly appreciate any advice as to
which company supplies components better than the above or any other
suggestions. He is not local to South Africa so we do have a time limit
but he is visiting again in April and I hope to have found something
suitable by that time.

Thanking you in advance for your help.
