TO: O and P Community
Eddy and Julio Fuentes from Ortopedia Centroamericana in Guatemala,
Central America thanks the Barr Foundation, and their Hope Donor
members , ALPS South, OWW and Desert O&P Cathedral California for their
recent donation of casting brims and silicone liners for the
rehabilitation of indigent amputees in Guatemala and other areas of
Central America whom have no other sources of funding.
Eddy and Julio have been teaming up with the Barr Foundation for many
years in this area providing services for amputees whom for one reason
or another can`t have access to prostheses. The use of the casting brims
will help with saving time and money during the casting procedures.
The liners will enhance their overall function by providing better
suspension and comfort to these amputees who had suffered from surgeries
that have not been done optimally and excess of scaring and bad tissue.
The efforts of many O and P companies and manufactures on helping
amputees through the Barr Foundation is greatly appreciated.
