I have a 238 lbs male in need of an AFO with a dorsi-stop and a plantar-stop. We talked about pros and cons of this choice vs a solid ankle, but decided the jointed would be the best choice. He's been wearing a plantar stop AFO for 9 years, has very little plantarflexion strength and walks with drop-off at the end of stance.
