Hello List,
I am looking for a dorsiflexion assist spring wire which attaches to a shoe.
My client has asked specifically for the same one, the one she has now was
made in 1985 (?) from a shop in London, Ontario called Orthopedic Services
which is now out of business. She remembers that the spring wire part came
from England but I couldn't find a company name or any marks on the device
itself.
The only spring wire dorsi assist unit I found was from Fillauer but it is
not the same one. Her device was made from 1/8 spring wire coated with
black plastic and attached to the shoe with an aluminum cube mounted to the
shoe with a locking T-nut. The big difference between this device and the
fillauer is that the wires do not run parallel to the leg (like uprights do)
these wires are curved posteriorly behind the malleoli and curve out from
the back of the leg slightly. They attach to a calf band and the spring in
the wire holds the calf band in place (no anterior velcro required).
Does anyone know what company made this or does anyone have one in stock
that they are looking to get rid of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
