I'm looking for some ideas to replace the Nortwestern ring on a harness set up for a short AE patient. The patient now has two N-rings, situated vertically about 1 apart, to create a more efficient line of pull for the control strap and increase comfort. This set up works better than only one ring, but the proximal ring continues to put excessive pressure on the back of the neck. I'm making a leather saddle type deal with buckles/straps attached.

Any ideas on making this system more comfortable/functional would be appreciated.
