Greetings,
I am a librarian, who for a short while worked to establish the library
collection at Georgia Tech in support of their MSPO program. I have since
left, but continue to have an interest in information resources for
prosthetists, orthotists, and amputees. A few month's back, I searched the
Internet and several databases to determine the number of amputees coming
back from Iraq and Afghanistan. At the time, I could not find any
information, so I started a website (blog) to track the news and articles
that mention soldier amputees. Recently, the number is said to be around
200. An article last week stated that 6% of those wounded have
amputations. I hope that you and/or your patients find this resource
useful. Please feel free to forward this to others. To comment or
suggest an article or resource, please contact me at <Email Address Redacted>

Regards,
Donna Braquet, MLIS

There is a fund for Mr. Loria that is mentioned in The Record article.
