One of the Barr Foundation's directors(also an amputee) is looking for a
local physician in SW Illinois whom can write a prescription for a
replacement prosthesis.
Can anyone help me with a physician's name he can contact that can more
less rubber stamp the prescription and components he requires for him?
He is located in the Woodbridge, Lemont, Darien communities (630 area
code)of southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
Al Pike recently pointed out that although that he is not aware of any law
requiring that a patient requiring prosthetic rehabilitation need a
physicians prescription, most third party payers require it.
I believe most regulated states of O&P do require that a licensed
prosthetist must receive a licensed physicians prescription to perform these
services.
Please confidentially reply to <Email Address Redacted> or call
Tony Barr 561-394-6514 if you have any suggestions.
