I have been asked and have agreed to Chair the Clinical Education Committee for the AOPA National Assembly for the next few years. As most of you probably already know, the 2005 AOPA National Assembly is set for the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, September 25-28. The Assembly Committee just met for planning purposes last week at the Mirage Hotel and what an incredible hotel it is...you do not want to miss this event and location.
One way to justify attendance and lower your attendance costs is to submit an abstract for a Clinical Education session. Do you have a winning O & P clinical solution, significant research findings, or patient case presentations to share with your colleagues? If your abstract is selected for presentation, AOPA will provide a complimentary single day registration, or reduce your full registration by the single day amount. Last year I presented at the Assembly and the single day comp registration reduced my full registration cost by more than half. So, I encourage you all to consider submitting one or more abstracts for the Vegas Assembly.
Submission deadline is January 31, 2005, but don't wait, go ahead and get it done. Submit an abstract now and have it done before the New Year. View submission requirements and submit an abstract at www.AOPAnet.org or contact Mary Merkin at AOPA: (571) 431-0876 or <Email Address Redacted>
Let us hear from you soon and hope to see you all in Las Vegas next September.
Best wishes for the Holiday Season,
C. Michael Schuch, CPO, FAAOP
