OPAF hosts its Fall 2004 Silent Auction during the upcoming National
Assembly of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) in
Hollywood, Fla. Stop by OPAF's booth for an opportunity to bid on a
variety of outstanding items donated by individuals and organizations
both inside and outside the O&P community. These include items
autographed by NFL and PGA players!

OPAF now has commitments from SEVEN manufacturers who will be donating
NINE different feet for a New Foot Technology Showcase. This showcase
will feature the latest foot technology on display and available for
purchase by the highest bidder. All proceeds from the auction will help
OPAF achieve its mission: of enabling individuals with physical
disabilities - especially those served by members of the orthotics and
prosthetics community - to enjoy the rewards of personal achievement,
physical fitness, and social interaction.

The latest donation for the showcase is the Cadence HP foot from Seattle
Systems ( <URL Redacted>.

Other donations to the showcase include:

The Tribute Foot and Venture Foot from College Park

OPAF President-Elect Jack D. Richmond expressed OPAF's excitement about
the showcase, This is going to be a big event. This showcase is great
place to see new foot technology in one place. Practitioners will also
get a chance to bid on the feet they would like to try.

The Silent Auction will run from Tuesday, September 21 to Thursday,
September 23, 2004. Proceeds from this event help to support OPAF's
direct-service community initiatives such as Fit for Life, Washington DC
Community Initiative, Internship Program, Dale Yasukawa Memorial Fund
and Scholarship Program, O&P Awareness Initiative, Grant Program,
Paralympic Initiative, and Speaker Program. Information about all of
these initiatives is available through the OPAF web site at:

U.S. orthotics and prosthetics community, established in 1995 by the
Orthotic and Prosthetic National Office. Dedicated initially to
providing financial and in-kind support to the 1996 Paralympics, OPAF
