Hello All,
Here is an update on my remote release query for the obese transtibial patient with rheumatoid arthritis compromising his ability to remove his prosthesis. He has an Ossur 600 series lock. The release button and its housing have small holes for the use of the installation tool. I threaded a Hosmer elbow lock release cable through the hole, through a housing and up the lateral socket to a release handle for an Otto Bock locking knee. I removed the tabs in the handle which allows the patient to secure the handle in the unlocked position, freeing both hands for removal of the prosthesis. I am now looking for a handle to replace the Otto Bock part. I would like to use a handle that has a stop in the unlocked position. The patient has to fiddle with the handle a bit too much to place it in the unlocked position. Any ideas?
Thanks,
David
