Thanks to all who responded, some signed the e-mails some did not. This is
what makes this service valuable to all of us. Thank you Paul. Here is my
original post.

Hello all:

Has anyone tried the router advertised in the O&P Business News? The price
seems so much lower than all the others. How does it compare to a Trautman or
Routman?

Thanks for your help in advance.

IT IS NOT AS GOOD... MANY PROBLEMS

John, I bought one the blue ones out of Florida about 5 months ago and
it seems to work great. I have used all the others as well and this one
seems to work as well or better than the rest. I plan to buy a second one in
2-3 months.

Yes- the GS Machine router you speak of is a very reliable machine. I have
had mine for over 7 years with no downtime. He stands behind the product and I
would buy another. Bob Grubbs, C.P.O., L.P.O.

Feel free to call ;my office and speak to one of my customer service
personnel about our AC variable speed router. It is the only AC variable speed router
on the market and is quite a bit less than the Troutman routers. I have
plenty of references if you need one for this item. We currently have them in
stock for same day shipment and as with all orders over $1000.00, the shipping is
free.

I just bought one from GS machine. It's great.

Don't know, but you get what you pay for and you pay for what you get. I
wouldn't use anything but a Trautman myself.

I bought one about ten years ago. they appear to be unchanged in design. they
are VERY CHEAP (pronounced kinda crappy). I mean, they are routers, in that
they go around and around and you can use standard attachments, but the
motors are not great and the mounts are very cheaply made. on the up side the
shafts are pretty true (even though they are DYE-CHEMED this really cheesy red
color and once that wears off they will rust like a anchor). I love that in their
ads they say our bases are flatter and stiffer than any other on the
market... but the base is just a peice of thin steel and they flex so bad the
otherwise reletivly true running machine dances around at an alarming rate. I have
four routers, the one G&S, one from O&P equiptment and two Trautman. bottom
line? if you are just opening up and you have to get a cheap router buy a G&S and
in a few years when you can afford a good one get a Trautman, by that time the
G&S will be ready to send to your satelight office.

The O&P equiptment routers are a little more than the G&S but even though
appear to be much better crafted, mine is so short you get kyphosis trying to use
it, the light bulb expolded day one and even though my technicians will
hardly ever use it, it is on it's third motor in three years!

good luck in your quest!

Tony

If your talking about the GS Machine router. Its great. I have 2 of them.
One is 7 years old and the other is 5 years old. Never had any problems.
Don't let the price scare you. Yes, it is half the price but not half the
quality!

<URL Redacted>. has a router that we have purchased and it
seems to be of very high quality and the price was right. I hope this helps.

don't know the Routman. I've used the Troutman through the years. It's an
amazingly well built router.

However, I bought a GS Machine router in February and have been using it
constantly in production of the HippO since. It runs probably 6 hours per
day. I'm very happy with it. It's smooth, has two speeds, a footswitch ...
very nice for the price.

Regards.

David
