The obesity epidemic in the United States continues to grow and the O&P
industry will experience an increase in handling such cases. To address
the concerns associated with caring for obese patients, the 2004 AOPA
National Assembly (Sept. 20-23, Hollywood, Fla.) presents:

Obesity—An American Epidemic: O&P Challenges and Solutions Wednesday,
September 22, 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

Examine the current epidemic in American society as a leading panel of
experts discusses the topic of obesity and solutions to problems when
working with higher-weight patients. Learn about the prosthetic and
orthotic challenges facing practitioners and engineers in the design of
materials and components for fitting larger weight patients.

The Assembly features over 100 sessions to choose from, including
programs for technicians, C.Peds, mastectomy fitters, O&P practitioners
and Florida practitioners to meet state licensure requirements. Visit
www.aopanet.org for the complete preliminary program and to register.
