Thanks to everyone who responded.
Below are the responces that I received.
GB
I just left an office where the billing clerk made $9.00 per hour. Her starting wage was $7.00 per hour. (I believe this to be low rates as the billing clerks in our area for medical offices make anywhere from $11.00 -$15.00 plus a percentage of all that is brought in on a quarterly basis, she also acted as front office manager with the owner being the manager of the facility.
I pay my office person 14.50 an hour. Please be aware if your tech makes a mistake you can usually redeem it in a timely manner. If your office person does things incorrectly you may never know about it.
Linda Mason, CP
Biller - $45K
Front reception - $12/hr
Precertification benefits coordinator - $15/hr partime
Office Controller - $60K, certified accountant too
Gabriel,
In the NE region, an experienced biller would get between $15 and $18 per hour. I understand the closer you get to New York that could go as high as $30.00 per hour. I don't know that there is a typical office manager position any more. Normally, you would have a practice manager, whose salary could be in the $70,000 to $125,000 range. And/or a Reimbursement Manager whose salary would be $50,000 + These numbers would depend, again on experience and level of education. Hope you find this helpful
In our office the Biller (with 1 yr experience) earns $12. hour. Our Office Mgr has 5 yrs experience and is an ABC Registered Fitter earning $42K a yr plus bonuses.
My part time office manager makes 16.25 per hour and my receptionist makes
10.50 per hour. My company is in Houston TX where the cost of living is
fairly low
You may check www.salary.com
Our billing staff has a range of $12-$17 depending on experience
Office Manager/General Manager has a range of $15-$20
Receptionist is $9.50 - $14
MY office Manager makes 33,000.00 a yr. with 2 yrs experience with my training
