Right now, as it stands, if you're practicing in one of those states,
theoretically you
cannot provide Gait Training to any of your customers.
Is there someone on this list who can clarify this point. What gait training
with a prosthesis comes under the scope of practice of the prosthetist? Is not
the gait training provided by the prosthetist reimbursed under the base
L-code of the prosthesis?
Way back when I attended school at NU part of my curriculum included time in
PT at RIC to learn amputee gait training from a PT, and I have continued this
education by attending amputee gait seminars taught by Dr. Bob Gailey.
This would seem to place gait training of the amputee within my scope of
practice based upon the formal education I have received. Is this not the same
logic for PTs doing prosthetics?
