ORIGINAL QUESTION:
Hi List members,
1. Do you know if there are fees associated with the new spinal K
codes? Where can they be found?
2. Looking at the Cigna/Medicare (Region D) online fee schedule, I
am unable to find L3620 for a stirrup transfer, although transfers are
still covered in the policy section.

Update: I just heard from someone at AOPA who told us that the new K
code fees won't be out for a year or so. We need to create and submit
our own customary fees for the K codes when we invoice.
RESPONSES:
If the fee has been set you will find it here:
<URL Redacted>?
Sorry Randy, you have to bill Medicare labor and parts for a stirrup
transfer. Stupid isn't it. I just got the DMERC cd for spring 2004 but
I haven't looked in it yet for the k code fees. Heck, I don't even know
what some of those codes describe. Check out AOPAnet.com and see if
they are listed there.
It is my understanding that the fees associated with the new LSO K
codes will be released in 3Q-04. If true, I would anticipate that the
DMERCs will issue a supplier bulletin in June with these new fees once
CMS completes the gap filling process for these new codes.
I just heard from Kathy Dodson at AOPA that there are currently no fees
connected with the K codes.
