Take an important step toward a healthier tomorrow! Join Secretary of
Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson, special guests,
educators, business and community leaders, and policymakers for an
in-depth look at our nation's health. Find out what communities across
the country are doing to tackle obesity, diabetes, cancer, asthma, and
heart disease and stroke and to increase physical activity, improve
nutrition, promote preventive screenings, and encourage healthy
choices.
This summit is focused on building a healthier nation with goals to:
> Establish the preeminent platform for an annual State of the
Nation's Health assessment on the latest research, economics, trends,
and technology related to the President's HealthierUS initiative and
chronic disease prevention and health promotion.
> Bring together the foremost authorities on prevention, science,
state and local policy, and effective intervention programs.
> Expand community outreach efforts and effective strategies for
building private-public collaborations to support chronic disease
prevention and behavioral change.
> Gain access to the best how to learning resources, best
practices, and implementation methods to help make a difference in your
community.
> Provide continuing education credits for health professionals
and students.
Explore the exhibits. Interact at the technology showcase.
Network with colleagues. Make a difference in your community.
