Is there a recommended treatment for apparent leg length discrepancy due to pelvic obliquity? A 78 year old active woman called me and has been to her doctor who prescribed a shoe lift. She has scoliosis and back pain, but no hip or knee pain. Nobody has measured her legs, but she tell me the discrepancy is greater than 1/2 inch. I told her that her legs are probably the same length and the discrepancy is probably due to pelvic obliquity associated with the scoliosis. She thinks I am probably right and asked if the lift would promote further pelvic obliquity and scoliosis? I thought she was pretty sharp. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks for your consideration and responses. I'll post a summary of responses.
