I have a patient with a long transhumeral deficiency as a result of a farm
injury several years ago. He continues to work his own farm quite
successfully. Insurance pays prosthetic costs only.

He is currently using a socket with TD directly attatched at the end (ie no
elbow joint or forearm) Suspension is with a short ROSS.

For the last eight years he has used a series of OB Greiffer TDs. He often
uses these manually, spinning the control knob with his other hand.

He has a history of breaking the Greiffer at the radial/ulnar deviation
axles, which requires a whole new Greiffer since OB Austria (not Australia)
refuse to repair just the wrist linkage

As he is now on his fourth Greiffer in eight years, it's time to make a
change. I'm looking for suggestions for a new system.

He wants a TD that can be locked firmly shut on different thickness tools
with little or no harness tension.
Preferably something that can be locked open at different widths for
activities like riding a motorbike on the farm.
Something he can wash blood and manure off under the tap.
Obviously something that's fairly durable.

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

I will compile and repost replies.

Regards,

Rod
