Mr. Price:
I apologize for the confusion regarding ABC's March 5, 2004 email
response to your question concerning who is eligible to transition to an
ABC credential.
For the record, the ABC extended this invitation, by letter dated March
5, 2004, to all BOC orthotists and prosthetists for whom we had an
address. Thus, March 5th is only related to when the invitation was
issued by the ABC board of directors.
As noted in the FAQ's on our website (www.abcop.org) all BOC orthotists
and prosthetists who are in good standing with the BOC on and after
January 1, 2004 and until this invitation is withdrawn are eligible.
I hope this clarifies the issue.

MessageSince there seems to be some confusion about which BOC
professionals are qualified to accept the ABC offer, I am forwarding to
the list the following email from Lisa Rascoe of the National Office
along with my original question. Please note that any BOC members who
accept ABC membership must have been in good standing with BOC on March
5, 2004.

Hello Dr. Price, at this point, ABC is offering certification to all BOC
orthotists/prosthetists that are in good standing as of March 5, 2004.
The application is good through the end of the year.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Subject: Unification
Is the offer to BOC practitioners open-ended, i.e.; is there a cut-off
date? Is the offer only for those currently in good standing with BOC,
or will those who take the BOC exam in the future have the opportunity
to convert their BOC certification to an ABC credential?
