Dear Listmembers,

The fact is that ABC looks out for ABC, and we are customers rather than
members. I have paid for their services, and don't think that they have
delivered what they advertised either prior to, or after my
certification. If anyone here decides to file a class-action suit,
please let me know where to sign up.

In the meanwhile, I would like to find out where I can apply for a state
license without having to live and practice in that state.

On another note:

I've thought for a long time that the people working in O&P need an
organization to give them a voice in the industry, provide collective
bargaining power to reduce certification fees, etc. The academy does
this to a small extent, but is pretty much limited to promoting
education.

I believe that our current situation is due to placing our future in the
hands of AOPA and ABC. While I applaud the efforts of AOPA for
facilities and manufacturers, they do not represent me as a
practitioner.

Has there ever been an organization like this in O&P?

Marcus Boren, CP (Can I buy an L please?)
