I saw disabled people in wheelchairs and on gurneys making wheelchairs,
spina bifida patients helping with bracing, and others helping in other
ways, said Barr. Of all the countries I have visited , this was the most
inspiring effort I have witnessed of people helping their own.
The Barr Foundation, with assistance of the Club Rotario of Culiacan, Mexico
Jon Batzdorf CPO of Sierra Labs and Wayne Koniuk CP of San Fransico
Prosthetic Services and Barr Foundation director, is providing assistance to
20 amputees in a pilot program with the support of the PROJIMO's local
prosthetic technician. We are in need of pylon tubing , four-bar knee units,
and knee adapters. SACH feet have been graciously donated by Kingsley
Manufacturing Co., Costa Mesa, California, and stump socks by Royal Knit,
Lee's Summit, Missouri, and other private donors, listed on our web site,
