FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Interested in becoming a part of the National Peer Network?
The Amputee Coalition of America's Train-the-Trainer Seminar will be
held on Sunday, February 29, 2004, following the Annual Meeting of the
American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) in New Orleans.
This session will certify attendees to train peer visitors using ACA's
standardized training curriculum. DEADLINE TO REGISTER FEBRUARY 24,
2004 - TUES
The interactive seminar will include discussions about the ACA volunteer
trainer and peer visitor certification program; information about the
characteristics of adult learners and their implications for the
trainer; presentation tips from the pros; and techniques for dealing
with difficult training situations. Attendees will use ACA materials to
conduct a short presentation and will then receive feedback from the
other group members. The seminar will be facilitated by master trainer
Pat Isenberg, ACA Chief Operating Officer.
This seminar is possible due to generous support from the Academy's
staff and Board of Directors, Isenberg says. We applaud their
commitment to quality training and peer support.
The Train-the Trainer seminar is limited to 16 participants and requires
preregistration. The session will be held in the Magnolia Room on the
fourth floor of the conference hotel. Session hours are 8:30a-2:30p.
There is no charge for the seminar; attendees are responsible for their
own lunch.
The ACA is particularly interested in training practitioners from
California, Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, Montana, Florida, Missouri, and
North Carolina.
