Hi All,
I am trying to get a definitive answer to the question Can an amputee
patient who already has a power chair, receive a below knee prosthesis
under Medicare Guidelines? I have gotten several different stories on
this. I have a patient who needs to be able to use a prosthesis and a
walker to get in and out of there motor home and into there children's
home which is not wheelchair accessible. He is very motivated to get up
and walk. He was able to hop in our bars 35' without getting winded.
Anyone who has any current information on this for Region D I would
really appreciate it.
Thank You,
