Early registrations are 52% ahead of last year at this point with every indication the Academy's Annual Meeting will be even more successful than the last time the Academy was in New Orleans (1999). The deadline for early-bird savings on member and nonmember registration rates was Friday, Jan 23.
Hotel room reports indicate a significant number of members are coming to town early to partake of the Mardi Gras festivities prior to the meeting. As part of the contract negotiated three years ago, the Hyatt Regency Hotel has extended the lower meeting rate for rooms even though most all of the hotels have raised their rates during Mardi Gras.
With more than 100 education sessions worth 74 PCE credits, members should be able to earn at least 32 PCE credits at the meeting. Participants will also receive a CD-ROM with the meeting's proceedings and speaker handouts included. Complete program details have been mailed to Academy members and ABC certifees and are also available online at www.oandp.org.
P.S.
Academy staff member and group exercise instructor and personal trainer, Julie Hayes, will lead Boot Camp, a 45-minute exercise program beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday mornings.
