My original question was:
I'm currently working on a pair of stubbie prostheses for a gentleman with
a hip disarticulation and a transfemoral amputation. I'd be very
interested in opinions on the different locking hip joints for modular
prosthetic systems. I'm currently leaning towards the Hosmer design but
I'm open to other suggestions.

Seem to recall a similar case presentation that incorporated an RGO type
system. Just a thought.

I still prefer the Otto Bock 7 E 2 hip joint. Though it locks, it has a
bit of movement in it that may help an individual to get a bit longer
stride length. The concern is as always with Otto Bock joints: you sit on
the folded mechanism, creating an imbalance that could cause back
pain. That's why I use the OB KD joint 3R30 or 3R46 as a hip joint in all
my unilateral HD and HP fittings.
Have a happy new year!!

Thats a heck of a challenge! You should present this case!

I once treated a similar case with a RGO system.

I was hoping to find a recommendation for an anteriorly mounted locking hip
joint. The Hosmer unit is back-ordered. Any others out there?
