R/Sir, Rural Development Organization(RDO)is purely non
profitable,
Volunteer organization working in the fields of physical
disabilities women
development ,child labor, and, special education and
reproductive health. A
Rehabilitation centre for physically disabled(MarkazBahali
Mazooran ) was
Established under Rural Development Organization, in which we
are providing
physio therapy and artificial limbs ,calipers to polio patients
and splint
and braces to bony deformities and wheal chairs. Dir is a
backward, for
flung district of N.W.F.P. here the Ratio of disabilities is as
high as 10%.
Among them the number of Male disables is 6.4, Female is 3.6.
Here in Dir
the conditions for the disables persons are very much worse.
There may be
various reasons for the situation but the underlying fact, which
keep them,
deprive of the preventive and caring measures is �poverty�. The
masses have
are living mostly below the living slandered and they cannot
afford to adopt
preventative measures or treatment expenditures. We are
providing them free
treatment and rehabilitation facilities & running with the
sponsorship of
RDO. In this respect we are seeding financial and technical
assistance. We

We were in the same boat as you. We collected a lot of good
hardware and
could not find a way toship in abroad. We discovered World
Rehab in New
York would accept the items and distribute them. We shipped
about two
thousand pounds 2 years ago (I paid a friend to drive the stuff
there from
Charleston, SC). I do not have their # with me. Please e-mail me

Our practice also runs a non-profit, charitable organizations
called PIPO
Missions, Inc. Every 6-8 weeks one of our practitioners travels
to Mexico to
treat indigent patients who are in need of O&P care. We collect
donated
limbs and braces, refurbish them, and take them to the patients
in Mexico.
