The Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistance Fund (OPAF) offers the following
notice from The National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation
Research (NIDRR) as a Public Service Announcement (PSA), in fulfillment
of OPAF's official representation of O&P in community and philanthropic
circles.
---
NIDRR is actively recruiting new reviewers for their Field Initiated
Competition Standing Review Panel. They are looking for individuals with
expertise and experience in all the major areas of disability and
rehabilitation research and development encompassed by their Long Range
Plan, including health and function, independent living and community
integration, employment, technology for function and technology for
access, and associated disability areas (i.e., statistics and outcomes
measurement).
Please forward this information on to other colleagues who you think
might be appropriate.
Individuals are nominated to serve as a standing panel peer reviewer
through self-nomination or nomination by another individual. If you are
interested in participating as a reviewer, they request that you submit
the following three items to Roslyn Edson by email at
<Email Address Redacted> :
1. a statement indicating willingness to serve on an FIP standing review
panel and the area(s) of interest from the following topics: (1)
Employment Outcomes; (2) Health and Function; (3) Technology for Access
and Function; (4) Independent Living and Community Integration; and (5)
Statistics, Outcomes Research, Disability Studies, Rehabilitation
Science, and Policy,
2. a few sentences summarizing areas of expertise, and
3. an attached copy of a C.V. or resume
If you nominate another individual, please contact him or her to
determine if the prospective nominee is willing to serve and provide the
same information as above. If you have questions about the FIP
competition, please contact David Keer by email at <Email Address Redacted> or
by telephone at 202-205-5633.
