Merry Christmas to all!!
I also have a technical question - We have started using Duraflex (sp?)
recently for SMO/AFO hybrids. We have tried molding it various ways - with
and without stockinette, vacuum, baby powder, cellulose acetate as a
separator, wet or dry cast etc.
Overall it is working very well except we just did a molding with ideal
conditions - dry cast, no stockinette, vacuum molded, material heated
appropriately etc. and the durflex stuck to the plaster modifications and
pulled them off the positive. I should note that this was a double molding
with 5/32 colene AFO over the SMO with cellulose acetate separator. We
have done this a few times now and thought we had worked out the kinks.
Has anyone else had this problem? What techniques have people tried using
this material? Any tips would be greatly appreciated and a summary of
responses will be posted.
Thank you to all and Have a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!!
