Dear List,
I am going to put a vote in Mr. Gorski's corner on this one... Nothing was
said about the Academy's political position, just that ....comments pasted
below accurately summarize the gratitude and pride MANY Americans have...
which I believe is accurate. I am proud that our president even mentioned
Rehabilitation Medicine, and prosthetics in particular. That is more
positive coverage than we have had in a long time. Every time prosthetic
care and rehabilitation is highlighted on TV or other mass-media, there is a
chance someone somewhere will be inspired to join our team. We cannot
afford to discourage that because of our own political slant. One of the
Academy's missions at this time is to increase awareness and the profile of
the profession of Orthotics and Prosthetics, I believe that was the spirit
of Mr. Gorski's recent message. It IS great to have the ability to express
ourselves ( I think maybe I use that right like it is going out of style!!!)
, and on that note... Happy Holidays to everyone, good job to the folks
working at Walter Reed and to the people restoring lost function everywhere
in the world... and a BIG thanks to the troops, who are UNDOUBTEDLY making
sacrifices in their own lives!
Sincerely,
Justin Foster
