Tom,
This is a great forum for this question. I am lost as well regarding the
new codes. Since I don't do a lot of off the shelf spinal bracing except
chairbacks, I am not really familiar with the new devices on the market
that these codes must be for. Could you post any responses you get? I
have the Crosswalk list that AOPA sent late last year, but soon after
they sent out a note that said their conversions were not valid, but
never followed up with a new list. Along with that problem, the DMERC
mistakenly reduced the allowables for custom TLSO body jackets to an
amount for off the shelf orthoses and the reimbursement doesn't really
cover the costs to provide custom. I suspect it will be corrected, but
what to do in the meantime. I'd like to see AOPA respond to this
question.
