All,
OPAF offers the following information from The Foundation Center as a
public service to the O&P community and especially to potential and
current O&P students, students with physical challenges, and student
instructors and professional mentors.
---
The Foundation Center has launched its first online tutorial in the
Virtual Classroom area of its Web site. This free e-learning tutorial is
designed for U.S. students seeking financial support in the form of
undergraduate scholarships or fellowships, residencies, internships, or
other awards in order to pursue their education. It offers a
step-by-step approach to securing scholarships and covers facts about
foundations and other sources of student financial aid.
In addition to facts on foundation support, students can learn how to:
articulate a plan of study; create a unique profile to help determine
affiliations; identify potential funders; and understand the application
process.
The tutorial includes several interactive exercises and assignments,
three worksheets, and a self-test to reinforce what you've learned. Also
included are extensive links to resources and a glossary of
scholarship-related terms.
You can visit the Center's Virtual Classroom to register and access this
new learning tool for free:
