Unification of ABC and BOC
Text:
Dear Listserv Members:
I would like to respectfully suggest and encourage that the discussions and
debates regarding the Unification of ABC & BOC not be aired on the OANDP-L
Listserv, as this has the potential of being a very volatile and sensitive topic
to many ABC and BOC practitioners, who do not yet know all the facts behind
this initiative.
Regardless, this is a very important topic and the exchange of thoughts,
ideas, questions and concerns need to be aired and/or brought forward in some
forum amongst the ABC and BOC practitioners who would be impacted by this
initiative and not aired in this multi-member international forum.
This is a professional issue amongst ABC and BOC credentialed practitioners
in the US, and as such, should be debated and discussed in a professional
manner amongst them and the leadership of their respective credentialing
organizations.
With this in mind, I have contacted our Listserv Moderator, Paul E.
Prusakowski, CPO and suggested, if it is possible, that a separate ABC/BOC Listserver
be set up for just this purpose and that it be restricted to only those
practitioners who would be impacted by the potential Unification of ABC & BOC. He is
exploring the options and possibilities for setting up such a Listserv.
Interested ABC and BOC practitioners would then have to register with this
special Listserv to join the discussions. Validating one's ABC or BOC
credential will obviously be necessary to achieve what I have proposed; therefor, their
will need to a level of cooperation from both ABC and BOC to achieve this.
I am hopeful those practitioners involved will be in agreement with this
suggestion!
Sincerest professional regards,
John N. Billock, CPO/L, FAAOP
