I recently read the post Mr.Foster decided to make and I just a few words to
say to the student.I have been in this field for more than ten years.I have
swept floors, cleaned out plaster traps and scrubbed practioner toliets but,I
have never read or heard more whiny crap in my life.I would suggest to you that
calling yourself a professional is far from the real.I spents years studing and
learning from O&P professionals and finally I get to call myself
professional.I suggest leaving the school books at school and wake up a smell the mess in
the fan.We do not rip people off,and if you are suggesting that PTs are more
qualified to fit these braces, well pal,you just made an industry full of
enemies.Get off your high horse and learn somthing. This world is not gonna smell
like roses everday. So tell me this, one of those PTs fits a ACL brace and velcro
or the uprights come undone ,What do you do?The PT can't fix it and if they
try now you get billed for the brace they screwed up and the one you wear.Local
O&P aren't gonna fix someone elses braces. The industry might be in trouble
but, that is not for you to decide.O&P has given most of us a reason for going on
and a reason for ending it all.Loose the attitude and get back to work.We
have a job to do,so do it or get out.
