Hello All;
I have a fifteen year old male child, shaken baby syndrome, who when anxious
will beat himself with his left hand, and bite his left side, especially his
fingers and thumb. Right side is semi-paralized and he tends to leave this side
alone.
He is very flexible, and can wiggle out of almost all situations.
The staff at his group home has tried many types of helmets ( Vasi, Danmar,
motorcycle,& hockey.) He has broken each and every one of them.
He will ask for the helmet when he starts to feel anxious.
My suggestion is to brace the left arm so he cannot get to his hand/fist to
his head. However, we still need some type of head protector so he cannot bite
himself. He also will bite the staff if their parts get in his way.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
