Hi everyone,
I have had a telephone inquiry as to whether it is possible to make a hinged
elbow brace for a CP client with a dx; of non-union distal humeral fracture
who has also sustained a dislocated shoulder and wrist (same side)
For background information, the client has had to placed under anaesthetic
for any casting for her KAFO and it takes 3-4 people to hold the limbs
during a fitting.
The referral requests a hinged elbow brace as this will be a long-term
device, client still uses arms when possible and elbow is currently bending
at fracture site, eliciting pain.
Any advise, options and remote possibilities would be wonderful. (hinged vs.
gutter style, etc)
Cheers,
Heather Prior C.O. (NZ), C.O. (c)
