I agree that to let Hanger and Ossur fight it out is the best thing. My
thoughts are that any practitioner that limits there self to one parts
supplier is not only hurting themselves, but most importantly, the patient.
I was trained to put the patient first and to design and create for the
individual. It might seem strange to see a mixed bag of parts, but if it is
the best solution for that patient then it is not that strange at all. We
have to look at all the options available to us as practitioners, whether it
be socket designs, materials, knees, pylons, or feet, and use what works
best. Some of you older prosthetists out there will remember that not that
long ago, the only choices were, should it be wood or plastic. We have so
many more fitting tools now, let's not limit ourselves.
