My question was:
I have received a prescription for a california hip abduction orthosis
for a young child with an unstable hip joint. The script specifies this as
being a product from Camp. Camp customer service has never heard of it and
neither have I. Can anyone fill me in on the nature and source of this
orthosis?

Ted, try Orthomerica. I think it is theirs.

Here's a wild guess, but we'll often use the hip abduction orthosis
from Rhino for children. This orthosis was originally developed by an
Orthopaedic group in San Diego, so maybe that's a possible connection?
If you'd like more information along these lines, please let me know.

Yes, Ted, that's an Orthomerica product. California is a tradename of
theirs, I believe, for all their Newport hip abduction orthoses, both the
III and IV.

I think the Pediatric Hip Abduction Splint from Orthomerica is what you
are looking for. I have heard doctors calling them California hip
abductions. Hope this helps.

Try Orthomerica

maybe..Orthomerica..?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can u check Orthoamerica?

End of responses.
Orthomerica does have a spinal orthosis line called California but it
does not apply to their pediatric hip abduction orthosis. I think my
physician is confused. Thank you to all who responded.
