Concerning the discussions on Ossur. What am I missing here? Why provide
the patient name or other PHI to any supplier? I have never liked do so and
have welcomed this part of HIPAA in that it provides leverage to tell those
suppliers who want the patient info - NO!
And additionally, I do not want to get into having to add unnecessary
administrative burdens by having to manage a Business Associates Agreement
file.
I think it is time for all supplier to update their soft ware programs (the
excuse of many) to accept our assigned code numbers, etc. to an order.
