Client heading to Pittsburgh

Text:

Hello List

I have a client who is moving to Pittsburgh and will be in need of orthotic
care. She is an 81 yr old woman who suffered a hip fracture and subsequent
nerve injury following fixation. She was prescribed a solid ankle AFO while
rehabilitating although she was non-ambulatory due to the fracture, overall
weakness, and a spinal condition. She used a PRAFO in bed and for transfers.
Ultimately she had a spine procedure and weeks later was cleared to be up with her AFO.
However, her main problem is not lack of dorsiflexion but lack of eversion
resulting in the affected side toeing in to the point of interfering with the
other foot. She needs something that will externally rotate the affected side.
We had begun to discuss options when I learned she is moving. Any suggestions
and/or help from Pittsburgh? Please email me directly so that I can refer my
client to you.
