I would like to offer my personal condolences and those of our board
members, to the many friends and the family of Ronney Snell.

Having first met Ronney 23 years ago, in January,1979 with my father, in our
efforts to secure support from the Academy and AOPA for state and federal
regulation, I subsequently had the pleasure of meeting with him at many O&P
events and gaining a historical and valuable knowledge of the O&P industry.

Ronney and my father , whom affection nicknamed Ronney, the Godfather of
O&P , retained the support from the Academy via corporate resolution, in
favor of action by states to enact meaningful licensure laws for
prosthetists and orthotists and agreed to work together for a model state
licensure act.

However, it was just the last 5 years, 10 of 40 states are now either
regulated or in the process of becoming regulated, as well as the current
exhaustive process of establishing federal provider qualification guidelines
for Medicare reimbursement currently within the Negotiated Rules Making
Hearings.

Thank you Ronney for the education and friendship. You will be missed.
