AK socket problems

Text:
We have an AK patient, mid-femur that has a numbness in his residual limb
after about 30 steps. When he came to us he had been to 5 other P&O shops,
all other sockets were reasnably well made but still had the same problem.
He has been in quads, Ischial Containments, plug fits..... still after
approximately 30 steps he says his leg feels like concrete and has to sit
down. In suction sockets once he releases the valve he feels fine. In 3-S
once he releases the pin he is fine. I had read the Erdtl procedure being a
solution to this problem, seems drastic, he is about 8 years post surgery.
We live in Florida so the weather is pretty consistant. This guy is real
sharp and he is not just a problem patient. Any wisdom would be appreciated.
