List,

I guess I'm sort of shocked by the (most recent ;) debate that I am involved
in...

I really thought our purpose and place on earth was to provide the best care
possible to people in need of O&P services.

For those who speak ABC...from the foreward to the Canons of Ethical
Conduct:

The profession of orthotics and prosthetics exists for the fundamental
purpose of assisting patients in maintaining functional and productive
lives...

To me, this is our sole mission. If I were a CPO, and a situation came
around where my coworker who had less (or no) credentialling could do a
better job, you can bet I would try and learn something while they worked on
the project. The outcome for the people utilizing our services is priority
one. I think fifty years from now, P&O may have a different face, but today
the fact remains that there are unqualified/uneducated people who can do
the job at a level I will probably never reach despite my background... I
suspect I am not alone.
