The easiest answer to this dilema is to have a line on your patient
information sheet that reads:

The patient herby allows and understands that his/her confidential medical
condition may be shared, without using a direct patient name, with
colleagues to better diagnose and treat the patient.

Signature:____________________________ Date:_______________________

Something along these lines should absolve the facility of this specific
AOPA example.
