Want to play a pivotal role in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics?
Now is an exciting time to explore opportunities at BCIT, one of
Canada's premier polytechnic institutes. This position is located in
Vancouver, one of the most beautiful cities in Canada.
BCIT's School of Health Sciences requires a regular, full-time
Instructor to join the Prosthetics and Orthotics team during an exciting
and dynamic time. Initially, you will be responsible for delivering the
Prosthetics curriculum for the two-year Prosthetics and Orthotics
diploma program. Longer term, you will play a key role implementing a
degree program. Program Head opportunities are also possible on an
elected basis.
You will use your strong leadership and communication skills to network
with a diverse group of contacts within the field, both at BCIT and
worldwide, to ensure the Prosthetics and Orthotics program is
progressive, relevant, and comprehensive.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Certified Prosthetist or Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (Canadian
designation or equivalent)
· Bachelor's Degree with PhD or Master's Degree preferred; ideally
in a health related field, engineering or biomechanics
· Five years' relevant experience preferred
· Familiarity with basic educational theory and curriculum
development methods
· Ability to prepare and deliver up-to-date theoretical material
· Demonstrated teamwork, initiative, leadership and communication
skills
· Experience teaching at the post-secondary level an asset
· Experience with Problem Based Learning an asset
· Extensive industry contacts/experience an asset
· Interest in Applied R&D an asset
START DATE: May 26, 2003
Salary Range: $44,032 to $70,335 per annum
(Based on initial placement procedures)
