Dear O&P Colleagues:

Just some news about Mr. Ben Moss, the longtime CEO of Florida Brace Corporation in Orlando, FL and one of the last and best of a generation of grand old men in O&P.

As you might know, Ben broke his hip about three weeks ago in a fall at home. It was his 82nd birthday and, after going to the office for cake and ice cream, he returned home and there sustained a hip fracture inside his condo.

Ben underwent hip surgery the next day and is recovering at a rehab facility where he receives physical therapy twice a day. He looks to move to a new apartment in less than a month, if all goes well. He is in good spirits.

Ben doesn't have a phone in his room and his cell phone gets very poor reception, so he is not easy to contact by phone. However, he can be called through the rehab facility and they can bring him a wireless phone, if time and conditions permit.

Ben is currently staying at the Regents Park of Winter Park; 558 N Semoran Blvd; Winter Park, FL 32807-3326.

Ben's lack of a personal phone makes it difficult to call him, but he would welcome your cards, letters and flowers, I'm sure. I would be pleased to convey any e-messages you might want to send to him, as I visit him regularly.

Ben did not request me to write this e-mail to the O&P listserv. I'm doing it on my own. But I'm sure Ben would send his regards to all who know him if he knew I was sending this. I trust this information will be helpful.

Sincerely,

David
