Dear List members,

We are looking for anecdotal feedback from prosthetists and amputees on
TEC's Harmony Vacuum Assisted Socket System (VASS).
Specifically, is the change in shape/volume of the residuum in the opposite
direction from non-VASS.

1. Do VASS users feel the socket get tighter during the day?
2. Do VASS users have to take of socks off during the course of the day?
3. Do VASS users grow out of their sockets? i.e. is there long-term volume
increase (hypertrophy, as opposed to atrophy) necessitating a new socket?

In your reply it would help to know how long the amputee has been using
VASS, and approximately how many amputees comprise your sample?
(e.g. Out of ten VASS users, one showed .... after 9 months.)
Please reply directly to us, and we will summarize the results for the list.

Some of you are aware of our ongoing research program on trans-tibial
interface mechanics, and will understand our interest in understanding the
biomechanics of all socket types.

Thanking you
