I've a patient coming in tomorrow who did his own research on the web regarding knee bracing and has
become convinced that the DIL Defender-Pro1 KO is the best one out there. His orthopedic surgeon
basically said fine and wrote a prescription specifying it.
I've seen their website and it appears that they market to the active public - you measure your own
knee and buy our brace. You can actually order the brace from their website. The company is called
Doyle International Ltd and they are located in Bedfordshire, UK.
The brace was designed in 1986 by a physicist. The website seems to imply that knee bracing was
unavailable in Norway until he designed the product.
Other than the obvious difficulty in dealing with a company in England from the Southwestern US, can
anyone give me any information about this KO? Have any of our European colleagues had occasion to use
it and what are their experiences? Anyone in the US use it and how does it compare to US knee bracing
(Don Joy, Innovation Sports, Townsend, etc).
Thanks for the help.
