Dennis Clark, John Michael Join OPGA!

WATERLOO, Iowa - Two of the O and P profession's most highly respected and
well-known practitioners have joined forces with the Orthotic and Prosthetic
Group of America (OPGA)SM.

OPGA is delighted to welcome Dennis E. Clark, CPO/LPO, and John W. Michael,
CPO/LPO, FISPO, FAAOP, announced Jim Andreassen, OPGA president. Their
years of clinical expertise and professional leadership in O & P will bring
even more value to OPGA membership because they're with us to help our
members. I look forward to working closely with both Dennis and John to
enhance OPGA's existing programs and services for our members, as well as
developing new and exciting opportunities. Clark is now a principal of OPGA
and Michael is a consultant to the group.

Clark, of Waterloo, Iowa, is a partner and president of Clark & Associates
Prosthetics & Orthotics, founder and president of DEC Development and
founder and president of O and P1, a central fabrication facility. He was
owner and clinical director of Dale Clark Prosthetics in Waterloo.

He was formerly on the board of directors of the American Academy of
Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP), was past president of both the American
Orthotic and Prosthetic Association's Region 7 and the American Board for
Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics (ABC) and is a lifetime
professional member of Amputee Coalition of America. Clark presents lectures
and seminars throughout the country on clinical topics and has been
frequently published in professional journals. In March, he will receive
the Distinguished Practitioner Award from the American Academy of Orthotists
and Prosthetists at its annual meeting in San Diego.

Michael, now president of CPO Services, Inc., an independent clinical
consulting firm located in northwest Indiana, is a charter member of the
Upper Limb Prosthetics and Gait Societies of AAOP. He has lectured in the
U.S., Canada and abroad. He has been a member of AAOP, the Canadian
Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists and the International Society for
Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) since the 1970s. Michael was president of
AAOP, an official consultant to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
and was an adviser to the National Institutes of Health. He is chair
emeritus of the U.S. Member Society of ISPO, and is a fellow of that
organization.

Michael has published extensively in a variety of texts and refereed
journals, was co-editor of the Atlas for Limb Prosthetics and contributed to
the Atlas of Orthoses and Assistive Devices.
He is the recipient of the 1992 AAOP Outstanding Clinician Award, the 1997
Distinguished Practitioner Award and was named a Fellow of the Academy in
1998. He was formerly an assistant clinical professor and director of the
Duke University Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics.
